After a successful professional career as a dancer, Angela Tucker, owner and director of the York Dance Academy, decided to share her passion and opened her first dance studio in Newmarket in 1986.

Twenty-seven years later there are now three great locations in the York Region, including one right here in Aurora; at 305 Industrial Parkway South!

With spacious studios featuring sprung dance floors, homework rooms, WIFI and areas for families to observe the classes in progress. The teaching staff have a personal and yet professional approach to dance instruction which provides students with a positive learning experience.

Here, they are able to teach, inspire, motivate and challenge the students no matter what the age or skill level.

They offer a variety of dance programs from age 3 years to adult. Both freestyle and examination classes are available with certification through the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D.), Canadian Dance Teachers Association (C.D.T.A.) and Performing Arts Educators of Canada (P.A.E.C.).

Dancers from York Dance Academy have performed with professional dance troupes including; The National Ballet of Canada, Ballet Espressivo and Motus O. A number of students have also performed at Walt Disney World in Florida, which is just one of the special opportunities provided to students enrolled in the school.

First of all, parties are most successful when your child is involved in the planning and preparing. What kind of theme would he like? Can he help write the invitations or fill the loot bags? Who does he want to invite? Some parents suggest inviting one child for every year of your child’s age.
